Zoo Painting #1

This past July we went to visit relatives in Myrtle Beach, SC and went to the zoo. I totally fell in love with these small cows. Swearing I would never forget the name of them, I did. They are from India. They roam the streets and have no problem with the heat or climate here in the States. I was wishing I could have said the same that day.
This painting is on Archival RayMar panel 6" square. I will be doing more from this zoo on the same square panels so it will make a wonderful display.

Yes...before I discovered blogging I was painting 3 to 4 paintings a day for sale on Ebay. I now have 3 years worth of images few people have even seen. Our friend was here this past week and said.."Why don't you do a picture book and share" So..I am now in the process of bringing these images to you.
I am starting with volume 1, yes volume 1 of "Black Labs" The book is 10" x 8" , 80 pages. I offer a hard cover book and a paperback volume.
I am in awe of how many paintings I have done. The Series then will go of course to Chocolates and then yellow Labs. Each copy will be signed by me.

Caribbean Umbrella

Yes I do walk around looking up at the sky. For this piece I was walking through a rain forest in the Caribbean and the patterns of the leaves just fascinated me. Actually the whole tree fascinated me. I had never seen leaves quite like this.

Another Time

7" x 5" oil on fine art canvas board. A secret...I painted this from a black and white photo of me. I still have that expression to this day...sort of a Huh??? LOL Sweet framed or leaning against a lamp, on a mantle.

Boy and His Dog..and The Lab and His Ball

I had fun doing this one today but did have a tough time getting the boys head proportions correct. At one point he was a man in a tiny body then I turned it upside down and drew it that way. Perfect. Drawing and painting upside down changes your perpective so you are not seeing a recognizable figure. Try it sometime. You say you can't draw a straight line? LOL..thankfully neither do I.... Take a photo, a magazine ad and turn it upside down. Draw what you see then turn it right side up after you finish. You will be surprised.

Splashes

It's Sunday! Stopped at Dunkin Donuts and bought some breakfast and sodies and off to the beach we went. We were early enought to get a good parking place and a spot near the water to do people watching.

This young girl and her green pail caught my attenton right away. The waves splashed on her legs from the rough ocean. Being a mother, of course I have one leg ready to run if she fell, so I thought..she needs a Lab!! I hope you enjoy this painting. I have it on ebay.

We did leave the beach around two as it was getting to be elbow to elbow people and umbrellas. I use 45 sunscreen on my face and the backs of my hands so as my daughter says..I won't" look like a leather purse". However, the rest of me feels like one with the sun and sand so I hear a shower calling. Thanks, for stopping by.
